As part of efforts to strengthen collaboration with partners in the logistics sector, H.E. Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, conducted a field visit to the headquarters of Kerry Logistics at the Cargo Village in Zayed International Airport. The visit was attended by several of the company’s senior executives, where His Excellency was briefed on the company's logistics operations and the mechanisms used to manage the flow of shipments to and from Abu Dhabi, covering multiple routes to various international destinations.
His Excellency expressed his appreciation for the efficiency of the company’s procedures, particularly in the use of smart digital services and advanced systems provided by Abu Dhabi Customs to its clients, which contribute to expediting and facilitating trade movement through the emirate’s ports. These measures have helped reduce the company’s cargo clearance cycle to less than four hours from the arrival of cargo aircraft until the release of shipments from the customs port. Additionally, the average customs clearance time has decreased to six minutes. Furthermore, the company achieved a 270% increase in logistics operations in 2024 compared to 2023, along with a 75% rise in customs transactions, benefiting from pre-arrival clearance procedures that accounted for 69% of total customs clearance transactions.
His Excellency emphasised Abu Dhabi Customs' commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with the private sector and fostering a competitive business environment that supports Abu Dhabi’s position as a regional and global hub for logistics and international trade. He stressed that such partnerships are essential to realising Abu Dhabi’s economic vision, advancing sustainable development, and supporting the economy of the future.
