The General Administration of Customs - Abu Dhabi attaches great importance to Emiratisation in its strategic plan to cope with the local government trends in this regard. Abu Dhabi Customs is working to attract national human resources in all administrative functions and customs work fields, according to an operational plan being developed continuously in order to hone their skills through various training courses and prepare them as specialized experts able to perform their tasks at the highest levels.

The General Administration of Customs - Abu Dhabi Customs announced today that the percentage of UAE nationals in the administrative, technical, operational and inspection positions in all of its land, sea and air centers reached 100%, while the percentage of Emiratization in technical advisory and administrative jobs and operational divisions reached 98%, indicating that this percentage has made a significant increase over previous years, making it among the highest Emiratisation rates in the local government agencies in Abu Dhabi.

HE Rashid Lahej Al Mansoori, Director General of the General Administration of Customs - Abu Dhabi, said “Based on the directives of our wise leadership and the direct and great interest they provide to enable the citizen element as a key element in the economic and social development, Abu Dhabi Customs has been at the forefront of the strategic plan priorities.”

HE Al Mansoori pointed out the importance of Emiratization strategies adopted by all government agencies and a large number of private sector institutions in implementation of Abu Dhabi Vision 2030, and in line with the great attention devoted by the wise leadership to support the UAE national cadres and invest in the development of their capabilities to bring about Emirati personnel scientifically and professionally qualified.

The Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs stressed the importance of the role played by Abu Dhabi Customs through the executive management across all sectors, departments and customs centers in supporting the citizens and the developing young leaders capable of looking ahead into the future and inventing the necessary tools to lead the next phase, through raising the rates of job performance across all customs ports and contributing to discovering the strengths and weaknesses of the performance of teams in collaboration with strategic partners, and striving to turn them into opportunities for improvement and success through developing staff performance, and providing continuous training opportunities for them.

HE Rashid Al Mansoori added that at Abu Dhabi Customs has constantly been working to enhance the work environment for the experienced national employees who are currently working for Abu Dhabi Customs by encouraging innovation, research, development and excellence, in addition to the monthly, periodic and continuous honoring of the distinguished human resources, mainly aimed at encouraging positive competition among employees of different functional categories to create a state of creativity and innovation.

He said that Abu Dhabi Customs’ Emiratization strategy was devised to reflect the efforts of Abu Dhabi Government in promoting the presence of UAE nationals in all land, sea and air customs centers, which accounted for the 100% Emirati employees across all land, sea and air customs ports owing to the importance of these ports to the State and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in terms of security.
