Abu Dhabi Customs strengthened its logistical and organisational efforts in support of the 17th edition of the Etihad Airways Formula 1 Grand Prix 2025, held at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. This was achieved through an integrated system of customs services and facilitation measures that ensured the seamless entry of all race-related shipments, including Formula 1 cars and associated equipment, through Abu Dhabi’s air, sea, and land ports, enabling their timely arrival with a high level of precision and efficiency.
Fast-track lanes were implemented, along with the provision of on-site valuation services outside the customs centre and the deployment of advanced systems that accelerated procedures and reduced clearance times, which in turn enhanced the readiness of teams and organisers ahead of the global event.
Zayed International Airport Customs Centre handled 11 commercial aircraft carrying Formula 1 cars, primary equipment, and technical parts, and completed customs procedures for 105 separate shipments that included technical equipment, maintenance tools, and supporting gear. Khalifa Port Customs Centre received approximately 180 containers with key logistical equipment, while Al- Ghuwaifat Customs Centre processed 51 trucks transporting tools and equipment for the racing teams and operational units.
His Excellency Mubarak Matar Al Mansoori, Executive Director of the Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Customs, emphasised that these efforts reflect close collaboration with strategic partners and demonstrate the pivotal role of Abu Dhabi Customs in enhancing logistical readiness and supporting the success of major global events hosted by the emirate. He added that Abu Dhabi Customs remains committed to delivering innovative customs services that facilitate the flow of goods and equipment, improve logistical efficiency, and reinforce Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global destination for major sporting and international events.
